DURANKULAK » Durankulak is situated in southern Dobrudzha, 6 km south of the border with Romania, close to Shabla and the Romanian sea resort Vama Veche. Durankulak's virgin nature attracts many ecologists in the region. Durankulak's Lake hosts more than 250 endangered species of plants, birds, fish, and reptiles. On the big island of the lake is the architectural park Bulgarian Troy with the ancient temple of Kibela and the largest Eneolithic settlement in the world.
