Kadikoy is a large residential and commercial district on the Asian side of the Sea of Marmara, opposite the historic center of Istanbul on the European side of the Bosporus. Its neighbouring districts are Ümraniye to the northeast, Üsküdar to the northwest, Maltepe to the southeast, and Kartal beyond Maltepe.
