My brother and I booked 2 BMW-bikes for a trip in Portugal. The Motoroads team answered all my question before we started from home. At the airport we met a assistant (thanks to Mario), took our bikes and started the trip. Bikes have been in best conditions. Silivri is a city and a district in Istanbul Province along the Sea of Marmara in Turkey, 67 km from the city center of metropolitan Istanbul. Silivri borders Büyükçekmece to the east, Çatalca to the north, Çorlu and Marmara Ereğli to the west, Çerkezköy to the northwest and the Sea of Marmara to the south. It is the largest district of Istanbul Province, consisting of 8 towns and 18 villages, the largest city in the district also named Silivri. It consists of many holiday and weekend homes for residents of Istanbul. Silivri preserved its importance since ancient times thanks to its natural harbour and position on major commercial roads. Today, Silivri is a popular summer resort for Istanbul residents with its 45 km long coast. It is on the highway D-100 and the motorway O-3 and E80, which connect Turkey to Europe via Edirne. It takes about an hour and a half to get here from the city so is the ideal summer weekend and holiday retreat, although the road out here is heaving with traffic in the summer. Now the coast enjoys resort hotels and country clubs with sport facilities including golf courses, horse riding centres and tennis courts, health and conference centers and at weekends the area is crowded with day trippers. Silivri is 75 km westbound from Ataturk international airport, which is more that 1 hour and 40 minutes transfer time along Atatürk Havalimanı street, Atatürk boulevard, continuing along motorway E80 and then onto D-100, exiting onto Devir Sk and continuing to Silivri along Kasim street. The second Istanbul’s airport - Sabiha Gokcen airport is 120 km southeast of Silivri or 2 hours and 45 minutes transfer ride along Ankara street and onto E80 and D-100 towards Silivri.
