BOROVETS HOTELS
The Bulgarian parliament has approved the "Super Borovets" project which is expected to materialize 15 million Euros of investments for infracstructure development in Borovets. The total hotel facilities will reach nine thousand beds in year 2013 and new longer pistes will be built. A direct road from Sofia will make it possible to get to the resort for 40 minutes only. The majority of the hotels in Borovets are 4-star and offer a wide range of facilities - spa, indoor-swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, golf club, etc.
BOROVETS PUBS AND RESTAURANTS
There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and night clubs in Borovets and all offer great value for money. A large beer of 500ml is less than £1, and a basic meal is approximately 2-3 £. Food varies from local traditional cuisine (kebapche, kyufte, tarator, shopska salad) to Greek and Mediterranean specialties and Italian cuisine.
BOROVETS ATTRACTIONS
The nearest major attraction to Borovets resort is the Rila monastery. The monastery's most treasured historic and artistic monuments include the 14th century Hrelyo Tower, the five-domed Birth of the Blessed Virgin Church. Rila monastery has a rich museum collection of valuable old manuscripts and documents, charters and icons, an ethnographic exhibition of fabrics, jewelry, carpets and wrought iron objects, and a library containing more than 16 000 books.
