Two of the most prestigious awards at the 35th international conference on computer technology application in medicine (Computers in Cardiology '08) in Bologna were awarded to Bulgarian scientists from the Central laboratory for biomedical research, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences announces.
First prize - a diploma for best performance was awarded to Professor Mihail Matveev, director of the laboratory.
His report will be included in the 35th volume of the compilation IEEE Computers in Cardiology, issued in the USA.
Second prize - for best algorithm was awarded to Ivaylo Hristov, head of the section "Processing and analysis of biometrical data and signal" coauthored with Giovanni Bortolan from the Institute on engineering biomedicine, Padua, Italy.
The development of the algorithm is a result of the execution of a project within the cooperation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Italian CNR.
