The trade balance of the Euro zone towards the rest of the world for June 2008 is 100 million Euro deficit according to information of the statistics agency in Eurostat.
In May the deficit was 3.9 billion Euro. In June export has increased by 1.4%, while import - by 2.9% compared to the previous month.
For the period January-May 2008 Bulgaria registered a 26% increase of export and import compared to January-May 2007.
Regarding the increase of export, from 5 billion to 6.3 billion, although the amounts are much smaller, Bulgaria is second in the European Union after Lithuania (33% increase).
Regarding the percentage increase of import (from 8.1 to 10.2 billion), however, Bulgaria is first, money.bg comments.
Most significant is the deficit of the European Union in the "Power Engineering" industry - 148.6 billion Euro for the period January-May 2008 compared to a little over 100 billion for the same period in 2007, Eurostat data shows.
