This is the second successive year in September we've stayed here and enjoyed it very much although the weather was better last year. Old Nessabar is a lovely quaint place and ideal for shop browsing. The hotel grounds were beautiful and quiet, ideal for relaxing and very close to the beach. The room was as expected basic but clean and all facilities were in good order . Last year none of the balcony lights worked [ the circuit needed repair we were told] but this year they were OK. Also two small maintenance jobs I asked for were attended to that same day. Reception staff were generally good particularly Alexandra who was very helpful and spoke the best English. We were on bed and breakfast. The breakfast was good, an excellent selection of cold meats and breads and also hot eggs and sausages etc. For eating out, we would recommend "Balkan Cuisine" - turn left outside the front door, then left again about 100 yards down the road and it is along there. Very good and really cheap and providing the best sach in Nessabar. Also in the old town, try the "Trigon" - turn right at the bus and taxi rank just over the causeway and its a short distance along there. The "Dionis" is also excellent - enter the old town and go up the road a few hundred yards and it's on the left overlooking the bay. We had the best kavarma there. Unlike a previous reviewer we found La Bomba disco no problem for noise either year because it was closed both times. All in all, a super holiday in a great value for money hotel. If you come to this part of Bulgaria, try to do the Istanbul trip - terrific and a bargain at £65. We look forward to coming to the PO again, may be earlier in the season next time.

I am in total agreement with the majority of comments that others have made about this hotel. Some of the staff were great but others were less than helpful - we tried to make a telephone call (as the hotel phones were not working) and the receptionist couldn't even manage to direct us to a phone booth less than 50 meters away from the hotel. More importantly - I spotted a cockroach running around the breakfast buffet one morning that we ate in the hotel - although the rooms were clean I would be very suspicious as to the hygiene standards in the catering department.

We stayed at the Park Oasis late May/early June 2006 and loved it. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with cherry trees and two immaculate swimming pools. The beach is just one minute's walk away. Reading other complaints about noisy discos, I think the answer must be to go earlier in the season. The Disco La Bomba is just below the hotel, by the beach, and advertises itself as open from 10 to 4. It was closed throughout our stay, and the lovely clean beach was very quiet. The nearby restaurants/bars served tremendous, delicious Bulgarian food (recommended - Ambrosia, Stela, and the Oasis Bistro - all in Ivan Vasov Street outside the P.O. Hotel - and the hotel's own restaurant). All eateries are cheap and very child-friendly. And they love it if you attempt to speak/read Bulgarian (Cyrillic is very easy to read, even if you don't know what you're ordering!). The P.O. staff were very helpful and friendly, although there did seem to be a surplus of 'security' and the like who ambled around chatting and smoking all day! Not a problem, though. We stayed at the back of the hotel meaning a great view of the gardens. The front only faces the main road, so that's worth bearing in mind, although if you stay later in the season and at the rear, you'd be nearer the disco! The shower arrangement was no problem at all, and the water simply quickly drains away and the floor dries out. The room was fairly basic but VERY clean with daily maid service who left it tidier than we did. All in all, we LOVED the Park Oasis. Alan, Kim and Rhys (aged 8).

We have just returned from Bulgaria and stayed at the Park Hotel Oasis, Nessebar. The gardens and pool are lovely and the majority of the staff are friendly especially the room cleaners and receptionists. However, the appauling restaurant staff really let this hotel down. It is clear that they just can't be bothered. I think that they have all attended the Bazil Fawlty school of charm. We stayed there for two weeks and despite trying to be friendly with them they never actually spoke to any of the guests the whole time we were there. One morning I had the audacity to ask for a T-Bag which was ignored until I went back a second time and repeated my request. They were all too busy smoking and watching Big Brother in the bar and generally left the guests to get on with it themselves. Many of their friends were walking in and being accommodated to the detriment of the guests. Indeed one morning one of their friends came in and picked up an item of food from the guest buffet and bit a piece out of it and threw it back! Indeed some guests got fed up with their surly lazy bad mannered attitude and ate in the cafe on the beach where the two young waitresses gave a warm and smiling welcome. The bathrooms are very basic which is not a problem. However, there was a lot of mould on the shower curtain and tiles. There is also a lot of nearby disco noise until 5 in the morning.

We have just returned from our first family holiday abroad. Our children are 9 and 13 years old and we had a great time. Park Oasis is an older hotel, but is very clean and comfortable. The gardens are lovely and offer shade and pleasant surroundings to relax. The children loved the pool and the small park and with easy access to the beach it was ideal. Most of the staff were friendly and polite.

We have jusr arived back from Bulgaria (July 2005). we stayed at the hotel park oasis in Nessabar. The hotel was comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and polite. The hotel is situated right near the beach with steps down on to the south beach of nessabar. A word of caution at this point though, Because the hotel is situated near the beach you do get the noise from the clubs on the beachfront. Some nights it was a little loud and maybe for a family with young children it is not the best choice. If you are young and the idear o clubbing all night and then sleeping on the beach all day then this is the hotel for you. We found the country of Bulgaria friendly and a shopping heaven for all with shoes and bags all hand made readily available. The town of old nessabar was very beutiful and worthy of the world heritige site given to it.

The hotel is situated just on the outskirts of the town of Old Nessebur, just a five minute walk away. The hotel also has steps down to the beach, literally a minute away. Staying in New Nessebur meant we had the best of both worlds as we had a lovely spacious hotel with swimming pool surrounded by well maintained gardens/park. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel also had a lovely restaurant and pool side bar. The breakfast included everyday suited all tastes. A huge buffet of local cheeses and hams, hot food and cereals/bread etc. The hotel room itself was quite basic. However, was clean, had a fridge, TV and balcony with table and chairs. The maid came in everyday and cleaned, towels replaced every 2-3 days. The bathroom was simply a room completely tiled - so you just pulled a curtain across for a shower! Don't expect home comforts or British style holidaying and bathroom facilities! That is the reason we loved it so much here. It is Eastern Europe and feels very much like you are a long way from home. Our rep was lovely and sorted out excellent trips for us. A must is the Wine Tasting. You get to see a Thracian Tomb (Amazing) then go on to a wonderful restaurant where they give you a lecture on wine making and you are able to sample four of the wines. Then you have a four course meal and unlimited wine and some brandy. Entertainment was provided and was really enjoyable. The other must do trip is the two day trip to Istanbul. It is jam packed and very exhausting, so perhaps not best for young children. We paid just 60 pounds and received all transport, 4* hotel and countless guide information on moscs and palaces. Amazing experience. It was a shame to see so many complaints to our rep though, about the standards of hotels. A two star in Old Nessebur HAWAII was particularly criticised. We felt our 3 star was perfect and accepted that the facilities in Bulgaria are not going to match Western Europe. People were complaining about bathrooms and facilities and to us sounded extremely naive. If you are in any doubts go for a 4 star as the differece between 2/3 and 4/5 is immense. All in all this country is amazing. We have had so much fun with cocktails and the weird but wonderful food. Enjoy!

Ths hotel is of a very high standard, the rooms were very well maintained and furnished to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and the room was kept immaculate. The breakfasts were good with a plenty of choice. Dad and I needed a rest and we thought the hotel was perfect, it was like an oasis and we are booking for the same week again same hotel next year. There is plenty of shops, 100s of restaurents etc within the immediate vicinity of the hotel, with lots of night life but once in the room it is doubleglazed you cant hear a thing. We loved Sunny Beach it is very flat and although a purpose built resort has lots of trees and has a nice atmosphere the streets are kept spotless the only downside is some of the restaurents have private outside toilets that arent as clean as you would like and I caught a tummy bug but will be more careful next year.

The Grand Hotel Oasis is located in the heart of the resort about 250 yds from the beach.

The Grand Hotel Oasis is an excellent hotel. Clean, spacious with excellent staff who were always friendly and eager to help in any way. The pool is huge with sunbeds all around, we never actually got to lie on any of them as they were always taken very early in the morning. The rooms are large and airy, the air conditioning is excellent. The bathroom was large with a bath and a shower. The bedrooms have two single beds, wardrobe, sat. tv, mini-bar and balcony. There is a maid service everyday and your towels get changed every day. The hotel itself is very clean, the floors seem to get cleaned ten times a day! The food in the hotel was fine, breakfasts were the usual you get everywhere abroad. We went half-board and the evening meals were fine. We only ate in the hotel a couple of times though as it's very cheap to eat out and the meals at night were served between 6pm-8pm which is a bit early for us. The hotel also had another two restaurants and bars - the pool bar is open 24 hours. I didn't find the hotel noisy as we were on the top floor and the balcony doors were double glazed. There was also a gym and sauna which I didn't venture into (well I was on holiday!). There is an Internet cafe which costs 4 Lev per hour, a hairdressers and a dentist. The reception is open 24 hours a day and there is money changing facilities there as well, you'll get a better rate if you change your money at the bank.
