PROS: After years of going to Cyprus we decided to try somewhere new so we choose Sunny Beach. We choose the new 5* Helena Sands Hotel & what a choice! The hotel was fantastic, it had everything we wanted, wonderful pool area, health spa ( ladies I recommend the Magic honey body treatment it was divine!), kids club ,& ideal location at the quieter end of the resort directly on the beach. We stayed HB & the food was very good, plenty of choice and breakfast & dinner, even our 3yr olds had pizza, chicken nuggets & fish fingers! The staff are very helpful & friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and I've never seen so many cleaners in one hotel, it is immaculate. Every day we witnessed the cleaners polishing the kids play area, disinfecting hand rails etc. The busier part of the resort, not to everyone's taste, visit quaint Nessebar by boat,& its a good night in Khan's tent . We're definitely going back as soon as funds allow. It's worth paying a little bit extra for a higher standard of hotel as we did hear about grotty 3* hotels. It was only 2 levs (65p) for a pint of beer in the hotel so it's very cheap once your there & if you get fed up of the buffet style meals there are plenty of good restaurants- the food it great

PROS: Well, what can I say. . . FANTASTIC!! This hotel is a total palace, firstly your met by a grand entrance, then escorted to your room by your own porter. The staff are great and foods excellant including theme nights too. The rep's are generally all Bulgarian which is a bit of a problem due to the old language barrier but otherwise they know all the tricks. Two great pools, not too much room around them mind you, but your own hotels private beach makes up for that. This hotel is a resort in itself and I would totally reccommend it. The hotel is well lit at night and has security guards on it's HELENA RESORT promenade. Sunny Beach itself it great but not a very safe area once you venture off the main prominade. There's some very dodgy night clubs one even offering flumes to go down when your drunk with NO LIFEGUARDS and egg throwing!! The locals are friendly, but you have towatch for young children begging in the street and children trying to sell you PUPPIES!! Sunny Beach isn't completely ready for tourists yet especially families with young children, but all in all its a good place to visit.

PROS: The Hotel Helena Park is a 4* Hotel sited in grounds alongside its sister Hotel, the Helena Sands which is 5* rated. It's at the far end of Sunny Beach, which is quieter and far nicer we thought, than the hustle and bustle of the resort centre. It's only 2 minutes away from the beach, and about 15-20 mins walk to the centre, where there are scores of shops, pubs and clubs. Loads to see and do for all ages. We went with our two teenage girls, and they didn't take long to find the best places to meet other young people. The Hotel itself is brand new, having only opened in May this year. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Dining is in two sittings, which seems to work fairly well. Although some people grumbled about the food, we all thought that it was good on the whole. There was always a selection of salads and several fish and/or meat dishes. Eating out is really cheap. You can have a 2 course meal with wine for about £4 per head. Beer is around 50p per pint, and most of the cocktail bars have a 24hr happy hour where you buy 2 cocktails for the price of one at £2, so only £1 each.
