PROS: My wife and I have just spent our first two weeks in Bulgaria at the Chiaka Beach hotel it was really good. There was the a couple of things that annoyed some people, like not getting a sunbed as the old sinario of puting your towels out at 7 in the morning why do this when there is a marvelous beach accross the road. Then in the mornings as they were very very busy they would run out of cups for your tea or coffee. It was not the staffs fault as they seemed to be a bit short of staff.

PROS: Just been to Chaika Beach Hotel, Sept 2006.Vey impressive from the outside, and in the hotel lobby, but rooms were adequate quite large, but did not match the hotel. Our room was at front of hotel so maybe there were better rooms overlooking the pool and beach area.Food was a bit monotonous and never hot enough but it's the same a lot of places.Safe deposit keys were expensive 98lev for 2wks, but the safe was in your bedroom.I had friends staying at the Iberostar(1st class) and theirs was only 35lev.Drinks were mostly imported so a lot dearer than you are led to believe, and measures are double. It's cheap if you drink their beer.As they join the EU in January there will be a change to prices. The people are friendly and don't try to rip you off, just beware on the promenade(which is approx.5yds across) you don't get knocked down by-golf carts, pushbikes, scooters, rickshaws, cars delivering goods,horse-drawn landaus(part of it)as they take no prisoners! It was very windy when we were there 8th-22 Sept and absolutely threw it down 22nd which was our last day,all our clothes were wet through in the case.I think there were more Irish there than Germans as the Irish seem to be buying places over there as fast as they can. Nessebar is a beautiful place and you can go there on the local bus from the top of the Central Strip. It gets busy but if you go about 10am it's not too bad.Yu can also catch a boat there from the small pier just past Hotel Globus ,but it's dearer than on the bus.Sozopol is another nice place ,similar to Nessebar, but the boat trip can be a bit rough.

PROS: returned on 22nd august 06 from a fantastic week at the Chaika beach and sunny beach itself. Hotel is first class in every respect from pleasant reception staff to being spotlessly clean in all areas including beautiful rooms over looking promenade and beach, definitely go for the seaview. Food is excellent buffet style and the variety means there is something for even the fussiest eaters. Pool area is a touch on the small side and beware of the towel on the sunbed merchants but who cares when you've got a fantastic beach on your doorstep. As for the resort, its the best we've been to by a long way and should appeal to anyone who enjoys a lively but not lary resort and very cheap to go with it. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend both hotel and resort 10/10!

PROS: We went to the Chaika Beach Hotel in June 2006 - extremely concerned as to what we were letting ourselves in for following reading reports on this hotel on the internet. Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of the night due to almost a five hour delay in the flight from Cardiff - in rhe dark and having missed our evening meal. There was a bagged snack - orange, banana, two chocolate croissants and a drink awaiting us but not much compared to a hot meal. No way could the hotel be blamed for the delay and in fact the hotel could not be blamed for much throughout our 2 week stay. In fact it was great. We had single rooms each - which were in fact doubles - beautifully decorated and extremely roomy with a settee, coffee table and a lovely balcony. The staff were very pleasant, polite and eager to please apart from the reception desk staff who dould not be bothered to do much.

PROS: i have just returned back from hotel Chaika beach today and all in all i found the hotel okay it is a very big hotel and alot off people stop to take pictures of either the hotel front the hotles club mystic or the pizza castle located next to out hotel. Sunny beach is very busy and its a bit like Blackpool with sun without the rides. The breakfast and even meal were a bit off a let down but i am very fussy anyway on food but you had a number off different meats each night to chosse from but the is so many bars and cafe around you can all eat out from around Ј20 and that was for 7 of us and children there is a number of macdonalds my little sister wouldnt let my dad walk around as the is some prostitues around sunny beach but they dont bother you and it is rather funny watching them if you are trying to get a sun bed around the pool go around 7 and put your towles on because the hotel is full off germans which take them all up and the life guard takes them all off at around 9 if arent sat with them all in all this was an ok holiday but i couldnt go there year after year but hey you have to try these places it might be your cup of tea :D love rachel from widnes age 14!

PROS: I went to Bulgaria in July 2005 and it was brilliant! The hotel was beautiful and so were the rooms! the food was good but not very handy for fussy kids! It was very clean and the cleaners were very friendly! The bar in front of the hotel (the ship) was very nice but rather expensive! The restaurant next to it (the castle) was beautiful and the food is lovely! I had a brilliant time in Bulgaria and I am returning next summer!

PROS: Stayed at Chaika Beach for one week from 17th September 2005. First impression all seems very nice but after first night on eight floor with paper thin walls a nights sleep was out of the question. Had extremely loud intoxicated neighbours and we were moved to the A Block after complaining. Superior room with totally different decor and much cleaner. We met a number of guests who were moved from their original room because of noise level. The cleaning staff were really friendly but the girls on reception were bad mannered and impatient. The food was ok, plently of salads. The delph was all chipped as were the wine glasses. The hotel maybe 5* in Bulgaria but it would not be classified as such elsewhere. It was very cheap to eat out but it was hit and miss. Cafe bar at the front of The Victoria Hotel (next door) was excellent for cakes and coffee. N.B. Do not exchange your money anywhere only the Bank or Crown Exchange, we met numerous people who had been done!

PROS: Having read comments regarding this hotel we were wondering what we had let ourselves in for....However we were very pleasantly surprised it was nothing like the letters you read on here. The hotel was very clean, and beautifully decorated, the food was good, certainly not worth complaining about, don't forget you are in a different country and should expect to eat there food without all the complaining, if you want English food then stay at home.......We had a lovely room overlooking the side of the hotel on to the Castle Pizza restaurant, which was very pleasant. The staff were friendly if you spoke to them. We visited in June of this year and had a wonderful two weeks holiday and would certainly visit again...and to the Chaika Beach Hotel. Hope this help anyone waiting to go the this hotel this summer....Enjoy yourselves we did!

PROS: We stayed at this hotel and resort June 2005 (just returned on Saturday). We were dreading coming here after reading all the really bad reviews about it. I don't know what all the fuss was about. We have just had one of the best holidays here, it was really cheap, food was good (is it really a problem if English Breakfasts aren't readily available??) and we only spent Ј400 for the fortnight we were there, and that's including about Ј100 of sun bed hire (18 leva for 2 beds and the brolly each day) for the 2 weeks. Our room was really clean and although it was at the front of the hotel, we had no complaints at all. (Enjoyed watching the staff brush puddles of water down drains after it rained!) The maid was really nice, even gave me some string for making an additional washing line!! There was an abundance of towels (we had 6 bath towels at one point)and the maid didnt even appear too early in the morning. We had no problem with the restaurant at all and we had breakfast and dinner at various times during our stay. Just one thing that really got me each morning....... I came to the conclusion that some people only went for toast so they had something to moan about each day!! Moral of the story.....if you dont like waiting, dont get toast!! I wouldnt mind but the toaster was no slower than any other one I have came across on holiday!!! We can highly recommend eating out at the Pizza Castle at the Hotel. We had 2 pizzas, 1 garlic bread and 2 beers and it cost just under 18 leva (about Ј8 in our money)!! The Hotel Victoria next door has a cracking cafe place which sells absolutely fantastic cakes and gateaux and has some of the best cocktails we found. (2 cocktails for 6 leva 40 stinkies - about Ј2.60 at the most). The beer is quite nice (even I managed to drink it) but the wine is brilliant (be prepared to lose a few hours!!). The supermarket beside the hotel sells Sofia Misket for 3 leva (about Ј1.20 ish) which is great. Only thing is....the duty free at the airport is really crap Maybe it wasnt fully open when we went, but dont expect anything fancy. The staff at the hotel were all really nice and helpful, especially the staff memeber in charge of the pool who conveniently removed the towels from the sunbeds each day (highly amusing), seems some folk just dont learn!! We chose to go to the beach each day, it was clean and although the water was a bit chilly, it was nice. After all the really bad reviews about this hotel, it was really nice to have a fortnight with no hassle whatsoever. We are even thinking of coming back next year.

PROS: we stopped in the chaika beach may 04 .at first hotel seemed really nice, until we got settled in .the reception in the hotel, was well decorated, but the rooms did not match up to this.our room was at the front of the hotel,(we did not have a sea view),the room was clean ,but basic for a 5 star hotel.(food)=was mainly catered for germans.table cloths were not changed after every sitting.the standard of the food was just ok.there was not enough tables and chairs for guests, and was very hard to get a seat.we ate out most of the time,as it was so cheap.the hotel staff were not helpful unless you were german, which they speak fluently, and not much english.nights are very chilly, hotel did not have any blankets when we asked for them.the beachisbeautiful, and very clean.the banana (outside cafe) was just up from our hotel, and food was excellent! and very cheap you have to try their toasties.for a good night out, visit briz village courtyard, their is free show every night well worth going to see.also millies karoke bar is good.over all hotel average, resort very good and cheap.weather was not very warm for may would need to go in july and august for warmer weather.
