Troyan is the town with the highest Christmas tree.
The giant redwood is 23,5 meters high and will be adorned with lights and 1000 meters garlands.
Ceremonial lights will be lit at the central square in Troyan today, the municipal administration announced.
The mayor of the municipality Minko Akimov, together with his grandson will light the numerous lamps, adorning the tree.
The ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree is being done for the first time in Troyan, while the funds for the decoration come entirely from donations.
The Christmas and New Year's celebrations in the municipality start with the lighting of the Christmas tree.
In the next two weeks each one of the kids, living in Troyan municipality may send his/her message, which will be put on the Christmas tree and in the New Year's night the most beautiful wishes will be read in front of the people gathered to celebrate on the square.
