The first open mall will be opened in Burgas in 2010.
The project is named The Strand and will harbor over 50 international commercial stores. The investment is for the amount of 30 million Euro. Typical for open malls is that the stores and coffee shops are situated along streets, which enables buyers to walk in a greener and more pleasant environment.
The facility will have broader walking zones with sheds and resting places. Creator of the concept is the British architectural bureau GMW. The Strand will include 30 thousand square meters commercial areas, over 8 thousand pedestrian zones and a 26 thousand square meters parking on a single level. Specially prepared sheds will protect the open zones in case of a bad weather.
The leasing of the commercial areas will be controlled by the consulting agency King Sturge.
