Bulgaria the Land of Roses » Ski resorts - Video 4

Bulgaria the Land of roses » Ski resorts - Video 4 In Bulgaria the tourist is welcomed as a guest and can be made to feel like a friend. Those wishing to get a genuine taste of Bulgarian traditions away from the strenuous city life, can try the life in a village house where they can make their own yogurt, enjoy the rhythms and steps of Bulgarian folk dances and eventually take back home a pottery or cloth piece they have made themselves. Colorful traditions and customs preserved throughout the centuries can be experienced - kukeri, nestinarstvo, the rose-growing and yielding in the Valley of roses, wine tasting. Bulgarian mountain resorts offer unique conditions for winter holidaying and practicing favorite sports and are famed for having numerous hotels and restaurants that will give you an idea of the best traditions of Bulgarian cuisine and will live up to the mark of your personal preferences. And considering that mountains of various height, acreage and relief account for half of Bulgaria's territory, no wonder they are home to such world-renowned ski resorts like Borovets, Bansko, Pamporovo, Aleko - suitable for recreation, sport and tourism pursuits in all four seasons. Bansko is a favorite destination for both domestic and foreign tourists situated in the foothills of the most beautiful and towering part of the second-tallest Bulgarian mountain, Pirin. Bansko is only 160 km from the capital Sofia and is definitely one of the best-preferred ski resorts in Bulgaria as it is unique combination of natural sights, rich historical and cultural heritage, and modern tourist facilities. Pamporovo, the pearl of Bulgaria's mountain resorts, sits at the heart of the most picturesque mountain in the country, Rhodope. Pamporovo is the most popular and effectively the largest Bulgarian skiing resort, attracting tourists with its picturesque scenery, sunny weather, and proximity to traditional villages, some of which are on UNESCO heritage list. The high-class ski resort of Borovets is the biggest one in the highest mountain on the Balkans, Rila. Borovets is not only very easily accessible from Sofia, but offers an impressive variety of entertainment, night-time ski carnivals, and nearly the entire spectrum of modern-day preferred varieties of winter tourism.
