BYALA - Black Sea resort, Bulgaria » The sea resort of Byala is situated 60 km south of Varna, 80 km north of Bourgas and 5 km from Obzor sea resort. In the last years Byala has turned into a desirable destination for holidaymakers for its nice sandy beaches, crystal waters, lovely sea and mountain views, and comparatively cheap accommodation. The hills of the Balkan range are just 6 km to the south of the town. The remains of an ancient fortress are to be seen near St Atanas Monastery. A protective bank on the coast dates back to 8th-10th century. The campsite Kristina is nearby.
