NOVA ZAGORA - Bulgaria » The town of Nova Zagora is situated in the southeastern plain of Bulgaria, 30 km southwest of Sliven and 35 km east of Stara Zagora on the main road Sofia-Plovdiv-Bourgas. Tourists can visit the historical museum in the centre of the town. The area around Nova Zagora is famous for the men-made hillocks of different ages. Karanovo hillock with well preserved remains of ancient homes and objects is 9 km to the west and it is the biggest hillock in Bulgaria. Depsiz's Hillock is 3 km to the southeast of Nova Zagora near the village of Ezero.
