Bulgaria offers a great variety of thrilling rivers, which in the spring
and early summer are suitable for white-water kayaking. Besides that
there are several wonderful lakes in the southern part of Bulgaria in
the Rhodopes where you can take a canoe or kayak tour in a beautiful
landscape! And if thats not enough the great variety on the Bulgarian
coast almost invites you for a sea kayak tour.

2 and 5-day white-water kayak
trip
Going on a white-water kayaking gives you the opportunity to see exiting
parts of Bulgaria while you practice your interest in white-water kayak.
During the trip we will be moving from place to place every day so that
we each day will have new challenges and adventures. We will mainly be
moving around the Balkan, Pirin and Rhodope mountains where we find the
best rivers suited for white-water kayaking. The rivers are in the
category 3-6 and everything will be planned according to your level
there will be a challenge for everyone! Besides kayaking you will have
the chance to see some of the local attractions on our way, and
sightseeing of natural phenomena!
Level: To participate in our Kayak safari we do require that you
have experience with white-water kayaking. If you do not have any
experience please see the white-water kayak course!

White-water kayak course
This is for you who have no experience with
white-water kayaking. The course lasts 5 days and it takes place
in very beautiful natural surroundings in the Pirin Mountain near the
river Struma, which is one of the biggest rivers in Bulgaria. At this
place the water reaches temperatures of about 18-22 Celsius during the
summer, which makes it a suitable and comfortable place to learn more
about white-water kayaking. Not far from the place there is hot mineral
waters a great place to relax after a day full of adventure and new
experiences. Besides
participating in the course you will have the opportunity to go on
excursions in the area an area that has a lot to offer! You could
choose a hike in the beautiful Pirin Mountain, a trip to the town
Sandanski spa resort, a sightseeing tour to the famous and
breathtaking Rila Monastery or how about a trip to Melnik, where you can
taste some of the finest wines in Bulgaria. All this and much more can
be arranged with the English-speaking course leader, who does not mind
guiding when he is not instructing kayak.

as a minimum that you can swim.

Black Sea kayaking
Bulgaria has a coastline of 378 kilometers bordering
to the Black Sea a coastline that offers great variety and many
beautiful places. We can offer you sea kayaking on the northern or
southern part of the coast of Bulgaria both will give you great
adventures not only will you see beautiful nature you will also see
interesting towns and areas!
The northern part:
Kamen Briag meaning stone beach, this is a small typical village in
the northern part of Bulgaria.
Rusalka one of the most beautiful places on the northern part of the
coast.
Kap Kaliakra this place has got lots of history and interesting
legends.
Balchik - a quit town housing the former summer residence of the
Romanian Queen Maria beautiful situated in a botanical garden. Worth a
visit!
Albena the second largest resort on the northern part of the Bulgarian
coastline.
Golden Sands the largest resort on the northern part of the Bulgarian
coastline not far from here is situated an old interesting cliff
monastery now functioning as a museum.
Varna the third largest city in Bulgaria a cultural centre with lots
of attractions!
Kamchija a nature reserve, where we will take a trip up the river to a
small fishing village.
The southern part:
Kap Emine this is the most eastern part of Bulgaria. It is also the
place where the Balkan Mountains, who divide the country, ends. Once
passing Kap Emine we are in the southern part of the country.
Sunny Beach The largest resort in Bulgaria
Nesebar a small charming peninsula under the protection of UNESCO.
Burgas we will see the 5th largest city in Bulgaria from the Burgas-bay.
Sozopol a town similar to Nesebar again a very charming stop on the
tour.
The Ropotamo-river a trip up the river will take us to see a lion head
formed in rocks.
There
are several things to see during the tour and combined with a lot of
great nature experiences it is definitely recommended to take a sea
kayaking tour along the Bulgarian coastline! If you want to go for one
week you can choose either the northern or southern part. Or you can
choose both if you go on a 2 week tour!
Level: Going in a sea kayaking tour requires that you are an
experienced kayaker. Have you no experience we will start the week with
a course. We do require as a minimum that you can swim.

Bulgarian lakes canoe & kayaking trips
During the summer you will in the southern part of
Bulgaria, in the Rhodopes find several lakes suitable for canoeing and
kayaking. Lakes, which are surrounded by natural beauty and makes it a
fantastic place to on a canoe or kayak tour!
A great way for the whole family to spend the holidays!
The
first day there will be a short introduction and instruction. We will
start easy so that everyone feels comfortable and gets a good feeling
with the canoe or kayak. The following days we will be canoeing or
kayaking on the Mihalkovo lake, Dospat lake, Kardjali lake, Ivailovgrad lake
and Studen Kladenec lake.
Besides canoeing or kayaking in beautiful surroundings you will also
have the opportunity to get close to the Bulgarian population. You will
have the opportunity to see some of the local attractions among them are
the Trigrad Gorge and the Devils throat cave, where you will find the
highest underground waterfall on the Balkan Peninsula about 60 meters.
You will also be able to visit Shiroka Luka, a very interesting old
style village here you will find the only school for national music
instruments and national songs.

Danube river canoe & kayak trip
The Danube is the largest river in Bulgaria and the
natural border to Romania.
TID
is an international kayak tour on the Danube starting in Ingolstadt,
Germany and finishing in Silistra, Bulgaria. We give you the opportunity
to join this tour when it reaches Bulgaria in the middle of August. If you dream about canoeing or kayaking on the Danube but are not
able to join in August we offer you a tour on the river any time during
the summer. You will se cities as Nikopol, Svistov and Ruse, which is the largest
city in north Bulgaria it used to be a large culture and trade centre.
It is also in Ruse that we find the only bridge connecting Bulgaria and
Romania. After Ruse you will see Tutrakan and finally the last town on
our tour Silistra from here the Danube continues into Romania.
Level: To participate in a canoe or kayak tour we
require as a minimum that you can swim.
