
Trigrad is a small village in the southwestern Rhodope mountains, close to the Bulgarian-Greek border, 150 km from Sofia, 26 km south of Devin, and 40 km west of Smolyan. The transfer journey from Sofia to Trigrad takes about 3 hours through the most beautiful parts of the mountain, offering amazing scenery of fabuluous gorges and crags, covered by pine and spruce forests. Trigrad is famous for its impressive gorge, flanked by 250m-high vertical walls, for the stupendous Devil's Throat cave, and more than 150 other caves in the region, for its beautiful nature surroundings, great for walking and hiking, horseback riding and birdwaching.
