In February 2009 for the first time on Airport Sofia there are signs of a decease of traffic.
A significant decrease of charter flights of foreign transporters and the Business aviation are observed.
Unaffected by the crisis remain the internal lines, where air traffic is 9% more, while passengers - 87% more.
With a contribution for the neutralization of negative tendencies are the foreign air transport companies, operating on regular and international routes, which have executed 5.2% more flights and have transported 5% more passengers compared to February 2008.
The most preferred destination in the regular international lines from Airport Sofia - London (Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton) in the past month marks over 30 000 passengers, which is about 450 passengers more than February 2008. Second place on commercial load is the destination Vienna (20 000 passengers), third is Munich (12 900 passengers) followed by Moscow (11 000) and Rome (10 200).
The cargo transported by planes has increased by 30%, but at the same time the processed cargo on regular international lines marks a decrease of 30% in comparison to the same period of 2008.
