Comment: Just returned from 2 weeks in Sunny Beach Bugaria (August). Hotel was family run, but very young staff, not good english. Rooms ok, mini bar, tv, air con, clean towels every day. Food was basic, if you didn't get there early it was not hot, same stuff most days. Some nights pretty noisy with folk coming and going from the pool bar which was open until the last person decided they'd had enough. No entertainment at the hotel so you had to go else where. Busy road to cross to the beach although it was only a 5 min walk which was ideal. Ok if you want a lazy beach holiday and cheap drink. Beach front full of shops with loads of cheap designer copies, belts, bags, t.shirts. Food and drink very cheap. Near by Nessebar was lovely, only problem waiters annoy you to come and eat in the caf'e and lady's with jewellery follow you to buy stuff. We encoutered a snake in the water on 2 occasions at the quiet end of the beach along from the nudist beach, was told by local not harmful. Lots of Jelly fish. Done a couple of trips but nothing to write home about, highlight was the Dolphin park but not long enough, everything a bit of a rush and spent quite a time on the bus , also the chair lift on top of the Blue Mountain. Been there, done it, won't be back!

Comment: just returned from a week sept 2006. hotel apparently recently changed hands, only two young members of staff. Rooms good, but dinner almost inedible. The Pool bar was never open the whole time we were there. No atmosphere in the place at all. Went out most nights, highly recommend the Windmill a few yards up the road a great meal, and oh so cheap as well. No mention of the very busy road in the Balkan brochure, that has to be crossed to get to the beach(take your life in your hands)All in all the hotel is very basic, and understaffed. Use it as self catering, but also a long way from the centre.!

Comment: sunny beach, great place, very cheap, shoppers paradise, didn't like the disregard they seem to have for their animals though, nearby nessabar lovely place to visit, go by taxi come back on boat. hotel very good by Bulgarian standards food not marvellous never hot!! better food if you order from menu and its very cheap any way. staff very friendly and helpfull if you like kareoke you will love damien. nearby dolphin restaurant good show, also windmill two minute walk away. Beware though the advertised mini train from the hotel to take you to the centre does not exist and it is a long walk!! beach quite nice if you walk down towards victoria pier but there were loads of jelly fish in the sea ! our teenage girls had a whale of a time their daily spending allowance went a long way they bought hats belts bags, as well as the usual kebabs ect, not much for them in the evening but they made other friends at the hotel and made their own entertainment, all in all a good holiday.

Comment: The hotel was superb and the staff were very helpful and friendly although there were some communication problems.
We requested a ground floor room but on arrival were allocated a first floor room which at the time we were a bit upset about, however the next morning the manager of the hotel explained that the only ground floor rooms available were facing the bar area and thought that with a young child we would be better off in a quieter part of the hotel - we think that we would have been ok with the ground floor room as the noise was never that bad around the bar, but 2 flights of stairs was not a hardship for us and we had a nice view. The rooms were spotless and we had the best shower ever, on full it actually hurt. No matter what time you went to your room there was always hot water. The room also had a fridge/minibar. The pool was cleaned almost every hour it seemed and every day the sunbeds were wiped down.
The only problem that you may have with this hotel is that on every balcony there were swallows nesting. We enjoyed watching them in the morning, but if you are afraid of birds then you may want to think about it. This does have a plus side though as there were no mozzies by the hotel because the birds were eating them. The beach was excellent, we opted to pay for the larger parasols and sunbeds so spent 18 Leva a day (approx £6). There is a life guard post every 100m or so and they were always alert. The sea was nice and shallow and also warm. There are plenty of shops selling buckets & spades and inflatables. We would of hated to be in the centre of Sunny Beach - we walked to the post office once and that was enough. There were too many 24 hour bars & Nightclubs for our liking. The promonade was a really nice walk with plenty of places to stop for a drink or food (we liked to use ALIBI beach bar but make sure you have small notes here as you dont always get the correct change). Thgere are also loads of shops, stalls and things for the kids to do along the promonade - keep an eye out for the candyfloss man who has'nt quite got the hang of the twirling. Like others we ate out quite a bit but only because it was so cheap (The hotel food was fine). We would recommend Sunny Beach to others and would recommend this hotel to people who like a bit of nightlife, but not on their doorstep.
