Comment: The resort and hotel were just great. The service, cleanliness, friendliness and kindness of the staff were just more than anyone might have expected. Given that members of our party had skied in Bulgaria on several occasions and some had attended business meetings in the country - we were not naive 'first timers' in a country that has had to face real hard challenges since the 'changes' of the early '90s'. It short - we were not expecting a luxurious westernised-type holiday - In the event - we really believe that we hit the 'jackpot'. We enjoyed the privacy and intimacy of the Russalka - a family managed small hotel where the hospitality and warmth of welcome contributed so much to making our stay in the resort one of the best holidays ever for us. All of the management and staff were so kind and thoughtful. It would also be remiss not to mention the cleaning staff who each day - without exception cleaned our rooms thoroughly- scrubbing, sweeping and even tidying the things we had left hanging around. (Not to mention changing the towels etc every single day.) At the same time we had access to the 'five star Grand Varnia Hotel' and all it had to offer (Casino, Nightclub, Spa, Restaurants, Bowling, Swimming Pool, etc). And the Staff of the Varnia treated us as if we were 'five star paying guests' of the parent hotel! (And remember we were only paying a fraction of the Varnia's rates at the Russalka). Unless you are one of those people who are really difficult to please and make a delight of finding something to complain about on holidays, then you will find the Russalka and the resort of St. Konstantin a 'dream come true'. Terrific food at an unbelievable price, unprecedented cleanliness, sugar sand beaches, the best of the renowned Bulgarian wines at embarrassingly low prices - and much, much more. In a nutshell - you just can't beat it and for the very first time in the lives of my party, we are returning to the same hotel and resort for a second time next year. Highly recommended
