Comment: The Hotel Varshava was a pleasant surprise. I had heard nightmare
reviews and wasnt sure about going. We had a sea view room (if you get the
option book a sea view) the view was stunning. lovely. the room was clean,
not massive but completely adequate. plug sockets worked, got a wardrobe
and drawers and a desk. 2 chairs on balcony. we paid to rent a fan cos no
air con but the room never got unbearable because of the sea breeze. the
shower was powerful and the bathroom was more than adequate and clean. Beds
were top to tail but also clean. Breakfast was typical random food but not
a problem - aslo had a good pool and poolside bar. ideal location - short
walk to beach down slopes and main party street - yet not too much noise. i
would recommend - the staff were all very helpful and lovely on reception.
basic but fine - not much different from the 4* hotel i paid for last year
- go cheaper go 2 star. bargain

Comment: We wasnt looking forward to staying at the hotel due to some of the
comments that we had read on the internet. However the hotel was very basic
but very clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is
centrally situated and close to all amenities. We had a really good time
and are looking forward to going back to Golden Sands. Men be aware if you
are on your own as the vice girls will approach you all the time..

Comment: Just back from Bulgaria and had a lovely time, the locals are very
friendly and the resort had something for everyone.
Had concerns about this hotel before we went due to reviews from others.
But if you are looking for a clean, basic, centrally located hotel book the
Varshava.

Hotel location: Golden sands resort
Comment: Very basic and i mean basic 3 single beds to a room that was only
about 6ft wide and 10ft long. The room was cleaned daily but i had to swap
rooms 3 times for various problems i.e. plumbing, electrics and one room
only had 2 beds (this was supposed to sleep 2 adults and one child but where
my daughter was supposed to sleep i don't know!) there is no storage space
we spent the fortnight living out of suitcases. The resort was great very
cheap and good value but catered for German tourists. The taxi driver was
called Diana and she would pick you up in the morning and take you to Varna
to the gypsy market stick with you all day and bring you back in the late
afternoon all for 20 levs about Ј7. The people were very friendly, all in
all a great value holiday but i deffinately would book into another hotel
only a 4 star or above next time. One more thing you have to be careful for
the vice girls one tried to pick up my 14 year old son, outside the hotel
and the a lot of the children openly beg on the streets on Varna.

Comment: Very basic but clean. Bit like a youth hostel. One of lifts
broken for most of week so only one lift working which meant waiting around
for it. Pool okay. Food good and plentiful. Ideal for a cheap holiday with
no frills.
