Comment: JUST RETURNED FROM GREAT HOLIDAY IN HOTEL LILIA AT THE RESORT OF GOLDEN SANDS THE HOTEL IS EXCELLENT GREAT POOLS ONE ON THE ROOF. BUFFET BREAKFAST AND EVENING MEAL WAS GOOD WITH PLENTY OF CHOICE THE HOTELWAS SPOTLESS AND CLEANING SEEMED TO GO ON ALL DAY EVERY DAY. STAFF WERE HELPFUL ALL THROUGH THE HOTEL THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT ON AT THE BEGINNING OF JUNE NOR WAS THE POOLSIDE BAR OPEN BUT IT WILL BE LATER ON IN THE SEASON. ALL IN ALL A VERY SUCCESSFUL HOLIDAY IN A VERY NICE HOTEL WITH CARPETED ROOMS HOT WATER AT ALL TIMES AND A FRIDGE/MINI BAR NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL.Hotel name: Lilia

Comment: The hotel Lilia was the best hotel I have ever stayed in for all my travels. We booked a family room, which I gather made all the difference. It was MASSIVE! We were not quite sure what to expect, after reading some of the dodgy reports on Bulgarian hotels, but the room we had was far, far better than the brochure described. We had an on suite master bedroom that must have been 30 x 30ft, then a lounge area even bigger, two bathrooms, a triple (child safe) balcony,full air conditioning and even a bath and fridge(which was not mentioned in the brochure) It was carpeted throughout (cushioned falling for children!) in cream plush carpet and was immaculately cleaned every day. Room service was suprising cheap too - 75p for chips to the room! The food was ok, but the kids lived mostly off freshly made to order pancakes each day.(which were very nice). There was no entertainment however, which I felt it lacked a little. Also, take a travel high chair if your child needs one - they are like gold-dust, there was a lack of them in the whole resort, which meant we were limited to restaraunts.The resort of Golden sands itself was lovely, people extra nice to children too. If you go to Varna, dont wear expensive clothes/jewelry as pick pockets are rife. Wash ALL fruit, as I was very ill after not washing my last helping of apple-size cherries though! We are returning to Bulgaria this year, but are trying Sunny Beach so I hope we enjoy it as much. Don't book less than a 3* as we met many people very disapointed. But as the old saying goes you get what you pay for, and for a few quid more, it's worth the peace of mind!
