An officially registered electric car starts operating for the first time on the streets of Ruse, Bulgaria.
The car will be driven by the rector of the University of Ruse ass.prof. Hristo Beloev.
The electric car will be ritually “baptized” by the mayor of Ruse Bozhidar Yotov, announced ruse24.bg.
The post automobile powered by electricity, is a prototype of the environmental car “Free Duck”, which was developed by scientists and specialists from two European universities and institutions from three countries, among which is the University of Ruse.
The aim of the technological work is to create a post transport vehicle for urban conditions with an improved energy efficiency and significant decrease of the harmful emissions in the air by substituting the traditional petrol, diesel and other engines with electric and hybrid ones.
The maximum speed of the “Duck” is 45km/h and its maximum load – 200 kg.
The car will ease the work of the postmen in Ruse. It is anticipated all post offices to use such automobiles.
