
Istanbul is a cosmopolitan city spreading over two continents - Asia and Europe separated by the Bosphorus. The strategic geographical location, and the unique Golden Horn inlet were predominant factors Istanbul to become one of the world most important trade centers. Historically, it was the capital of three great empires - Ottoman, Roman and Byzantine and this ruled-out Istanbul's life, development and heritage till nowadays. Today, Istanbul is not only an administrative, but a religious center where mosques, churches and synagogues coexist in a harmony.
