Golden sands is abundant in lush vegetation and with the numerous bushes and trees it resembles a real park. The transport between Golden Sands and the big city of Varna is well organized. Apart from the bus lines connecting the resort to the city and to the airport as well, there are a lot of minibuses and private taxis. GOLDEN SANDS ATTRACTIONS

Close to Golden Sands is one of the Black Sea Coast's most famous sightseeing attractions - Aladja Monastery, a complex of caves hewn into a 25-m high vertical carst cliff. Occupied as far back as the Stone Age, the cells and chambers are decorated with murals painted by the silent order of Hesychast monks who once lived there. As hesychasts, Aladzha's monks strived to attain union with God by maintaining physical immobility and total silence. However, they did get around to painting several exquisite murals in the chapels, which can be seen at the end of the first and second galleries. You might also enjoy poking around the two small nearby catacombs. The best way to get to the monastery is to walk from Golden Sands as it is about 3 km uphill from the resort.

TRAVEL TO GOLDEN SANDS - TRANSPORTATION

Regular bus service is operating between Varna and Golden Sands during the day. Shuttle service and private transfers are also available at decent rates - as low as 6 EUR per person A private transfer between Varna and Golden Sands takes approximately 30 minutes.
