Chepelare is a small town in the central part of Rhodope mountains built along Chepelarska river. Chepelare is 240km South-east of Sofia, 12km North of Pamporovo ski resort and 85km South of Plovdiv. Approximately ten thousand people leave in Chepelare. Landmarks and cultural events in the vicinity are Zarenitsa fortress (IV century b.c.), "St Atanas The Great" church built in year 1834, and the Rozhen gathering. There are plenty of family hotels and local restaurants built in traditional Bulgarian style from 19 century.
